Getting Through a Healthy Future: Hawaii’s Public Health Commitment
Greetings to my fellow citizens of Hawaii and to my friends worldwide.
I am honored to serve the people of our lovely state of Hawaii as your devoted Lieutenant Governor. Public health is a subject that is dear to my heart and is essential to realizing our common goal of a prosperous and successful future.
In Hawaii, a state renowned for its magnificent scenery and extensive cultural history, inhabitants’ health and wellbeing are given first priority. Making sure that every member of our varied community has access to the resources they require to maintain healthy and meaningful lives is more important than merely taking in the sun and the surf.
I want to start by praising our communities for their tenacity and generosity throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Together, we overcame enormous obstacles, and it is because of our combined efforts that we were able to safeguard our most vulnerable and maintain the safety of our islands. As we look to the future, we must be on guard, aware, and prepared to adjust to new changes.
The value of preparation is one of the most important lessons to be learned from this event. We are making investments in enhancing our healthcare infrastructure to make sure that our hospitals and clinics are equipped to deal with any potential health emergencies. Additionally, we are dedicated to increasing all of our inhabitants’ access to quality, affordable healthcare. Strong communities are built by healthy individuals, so we must strive relentlessly to eradicate barriers to quality care.
Mental health is another area of public health that needs our attention. Our mental health might suffer from the pressures of modern life, so it’s important to give it top priority for our general wellbeing. establishing safe venues for open talks, increasing access to mental health treatments, and cultivating mindfulness are all crucial elements in establishing a culture that is psychologically robust.
Of course, establishing a culture of preventive goes beyond simply addressing problems when they occur. To provide our young the information they need to make wise decisions, we are funding education and awareness programs. We want to make sure that our children are given the skills necessary to have healthy lives as they grow up, from good nutrition to physical activity.
Our dedication to public health goes beyond national boundaries. We are actively tackling environmental issues, such as the preservation of our natural resources and the use of sustainable practices. We must take good care of the land that feeds us since the health of our ecosystem is closely related to our own health.
I cordially encourage you everyone to accompany me on my quest for a healthier Hawaii. Let’s cooperate to make sure that every person living in our state has the chance to prosper, appreciate the natural beauty around them, and contribute to the rich fabric of their neighborhood.
Thank you so much,
Josh Green, lieutenant governor
