Injured Rahul to Miss First Two Matches of Asia Cup 2023

Rahul Dravid, the head coach of India, announced on Tuesday, August 29, that KL Rahul would miss the opening two games of the 2023 Asia Cup, which will begin on August 30. KL Rahul won’t go with the team to Sri Lanka before their first game against Pakistan on September 2, according to Dravid.

On August 30, Pakistan and Nepal will play in the opening match of the 2023 Asia Cup in Multan. On September 2, Team India will face Pakistan at Pallekele to kick off their campaign. On September 4, Team India will face Nepal in the same location.

Rahul Dravid, the head coach of India, has said that KL Rahul won’t be available for the first two games of the 2023 Asia Cup. Rahul won’t be going to Sri Lanka with the team for the group stage games despite making encouraging progress in his knee recovery.

On Saturday, September 2nd, in Pallekele, India will play their opening game against Pakistan, followed by a match against Nepal. Rahul’s prospective participation in the Super Fours, assuming India qualifies, would be decided, according to Dravid, on September 4.

“KL Rahul has had a great week with us and has made significant progress in his recovery,” the doctor said. He won’t be available for the Kandy portion of the tour, though,” said Dravid. “The National Cricket Academy (NCA) will supervise his recovery while we are on the road. On September 4th, we will reevaluate his condition, but so far, things are looking up and his recuperation is going extremely well.
